Rep. Ilhan Omar on Tuesday called the scope of the United States’s military assistance to Ukraine “dangerous.”
Congress is expected this week to approve billions of dollars in aid to Ukraine to help the country deter Russian President Vladimir Putin’s invasion.

SCHIFF TAKES AIM AT REPUBLICAN CRITICS OF BIDEN’S UKRAINE RESPONSE
The Minnesota Democrat, part of a group of far-left House lawmakers known as “the Squad,” wrote in a series of tweets that the “consequences of flooding Ukraine” with billions of dollars in American weapons would likely not be limited to military-specific equipment but would include small arms and ammunition, which she called “unpredictable & likely disastrous.”
“[Especially] when they are given to paramilitary groups w/out accountability,” Omar added.

In a subsequent tweet, Omar wrote that she does support “giving Ukraine the resources it needs to defend its people, I just have legitimate concerns about the size and scope.”

Omar used similar language in a statement last month prior to Russia’s invasion.
