Texas man indicted for shooting at Secret Service agent near Washington Monument

Michael Marx was indicted in U.S. District Court on charges of assaulting federal officers, using a dangerous weapon, and using a firearm during a crime of violence in connection with a shooting near the Washington Monument earlier this month.

U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro said prosecutors will prove that Marx carried an illegal firearm into downtown Washington, D.C., opened fire on Secret Service officers near a crowded intersection, and struck an innocent bystander who was crossing the street.
