Audio recordings that former President Joe Biden fought in court for years to keep private were released Thursday evening after he decided not to appeal multiple court orders that allowed for their release.

The nearly 70 hours of recordings, released Monday evening by the Oversight Project, a conservative watchdog group, were cited in former special counsel Robert Hur’s 2024 report on Biden’s handling of classified documents. Biden, now 83, is heard at one point warning his ghostwriter, Mark Zwonitzer, that material he was discussing might be classified.
