MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell blames Jack Dorsey for Twitter woes

MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell blamed another CEO for his late-night exile from social media: Twitter chief Jack Dorsey.

Lindell, a pro-Trump television personality, said the Silicon Valley executive could be targeting him for sharing two recent articles, one a testimony to his character by an executive at his Lindell Recovery Center and another in which he talks about his Christian faith.

"All I did was talk about my direction, how God's helped me in my life," Lindell said. "It shows you what Jack Dorsey is all about."

He learned that his Twitter account was suspended while speaking to the Washington Examiner on Monday night.

He said this was the third time it has happened, and while he could still access his page, he could no longer post tweets. The Washington Examiner confirmed that Lindell still has full visibility of his page, while outside users were advised that his account was suspended.

“It’s different this time. Last time they ran it, they crookedly ran my Twitter,” he added, explaining that his Twitter account had been limited in recent weeks before briefly returning access to him over the past day or so.

“I can’t believe they took it down,” he said, adding that he wondered if two articles he shared earlier in the day were to blame.

The company had been restricting his access for several weeks, and his account would retweet or interact with posts without his knowledge, he claimed.

“They put up what they want. I was mortified,” he added. “I couldn’t do anything about it.”

Former President Donald Trump was removed from most social media platforms in January, including Twitter, leaving him largely silent since his departure from office on Jan. 20, although he briefly spoke to the Washington Examiner.

Lindell on Monday shared a screenshot of his Twitter feed that appeared functional, and said, “It was Jack Dorsey, 100% it was Twitter.”

The public view had been suspended about an hour earlier, at around the time the account began losing followers, including Trump associates and family members.

Earlier in the day, Lindell sued the Daily Mail for claiming he had a romantic entanglement with actress Jane Krakowski, a claim they both deny.

According to the filing, obtained by the Washington Examiner, Lindell seeks damages for the Daily Mail’s “thoroughly deceitful, dishonest and defamatory media article.”

In the case representing Lindell is famed libel attorney Charles Harder, known for obliterating New York media website Gawker through a lawsuit that ruled in a $140 million verdict, bankrupting the company.

Harder later represented Melania Trump in a case against the Daily Mail, which resulted in a $2.9 million settlement payment to the former first lady.

Lindell told the Washington Examiner on Monday that he was not familiar with the website Gawker and was recommended Harder by several associates.

He said that any payout resulting from a verdict would go toward supporting the Lindell Recovery Network. The CEO is a recovering addict and speaks about his path to sobriety often. It’s one of his principal objections to the Daily Mail news story.

“Since Jan. 16, 2009, anyone who knows me knows I would not be offering liquor or buying liquor,” he said. “They are trying to ruin my Lindell Recovery Network.”

He said he talked to Harder for several hours about his complaint.

“At first I said, 'Do I have a case there?'” Lindell said he asked the attorney. “He couldn’t believe that I’d told them that I hadn’t met her.”
