A pair of officers were shot and a suspect was struck with gunfire during a violent incident on Chicago’s West Side on Sunday.
The policemen were transported to Mount Sinai Hospital, Tom Ahern, a spokesman for the Chicago Police Department, wrote in a tweet. Both officers have since been discharged.
At around 7 a.m., law enforcement responded to a call about shots being fired when the suspect shot at them, the department wrote in a release. One was hit in the hip and shoulder while the other took a round to the hand.
The suspect was hit in the leg, but the extent of the injuries has not been disclosed. The individual was transported to a medical facility in good condition.

An image of the alleged shooter’s firearm was posted shortly after the incident.
A motive for the attack has yet to be determined as the investigation is ongoing.
