The Rolling Stones postponed its Amsterdam concert last minute on Monday after frontman Mick Jagger, 78, became ill and tested positive for COVID-19.

In a statement, the band explained that Jagger began experiencing symptoms after arriving at the venue. This led to him taking a COVID-19 test, which came back positive.

The show will instead be pushed to a later date, and tickets will be honored for the new date, which is to be determined. Fans were told, “Standby for details.”

Mojo Concerts, the company that organized the event, reportedly sent representatives to the stage just an hour and a half before the concert to break the bad news to fans.

“We just got the news that tonight’s show (June 13, 2022) of The Rolling Stones is cancelled. Singer Mick Jagger has just been diagnosed with COVID-19 and he has just left the room sick. Purchased tickets remain valid for a new date. The date will be announced later. Our sincere apologies for this. As soon as we have more news, we’ll let you know,” the company’s website reads.

“He can’t sing, he can’t play,” an announcer at the arena reportedly explained. “There is no show tonight.”

“It is what it is,” the announcer added.

“FML,” one user wrote in response to the band’s statement on Twitter. The user included a photo of himself looking disappointed at what appears to be the venue.
