North Carolina senator Kay Hagan has a minute-long radio ad running Tuesday featuring her fellow Democrat, President Barack Obama.
“North Carolina, we need to send a message this election,” Obama says. “If you want to make a difference, here is your chance: Vote for Democrats and Kay Hagan on November 4.” The president adds that Republicans are standing in the way of various aspects of his and Hagan’s agenda, including raising the minimum wage.
“Let’s send them a message by voting for someone who shares our priorities,” Obama continues. “Voting’s easy. Just stand with me, President Obama, and take responsibility in moving North Carolina forward by voting for Kay Hagan on November 4.”
“I’m Kay Hagan, candidate for U.S. Senate, and I approve this message,” Hagan says at the end of the ad. LIsten to it below:
Hagan leads her Republican challenger Thom Tillis in one may be one of Tuesday’s closest Senate races.
Update: The ad doesn’t appear on Hagan’s campaign website or her YouTube page. In fact, when Politico first reported on the ad Monday evening, the Hagan campaign did not even respond to the reporter’s request for comment:
