A new ad from Veterans Against the Deal features the father of U.S. Army specialist Clay Farr, who was killed by an Iranian bomb in Iraq in 2006. In the 60-second spot, Patrick Farr describes the day he learned of his son’s death and expresses his opposition to a deal that will reward the regime that killed him.
“The Iranian nuclear deal will allow Iran to have their funding back. They will be able to continue to fund terrorism,” says Farr. “The administration must not really care about what Iran has done on the terrorism front, killing American soldiers. They’ve just completely forgotten.” Watch the video below:
“Put the sanctions back on Iran. Put America first,” says Farr.
In a statement the executive director of Veterans Against the Deal, Michael Pregent, said “opposition to this dangerous deal doesn’t just come from soldiers with direct experience of Iranian terrorism — it also comes from bereaved families who live forever with the anguish and loss caused by Iranian terror, and who wish to prevent others from experiencing what they have to live with every day.”
This is the second ad from the group, which is asking Americans to tell their senators to vote against the deal. The first features another Iraq veteran, Robert Bartlett, who was severely injured by an Iranian bomb. Several insurgent groups within Iraq during and after 2005 were provided weapons and materiel by the Iranian government.
