Massachusetts senator Elizabeth Warren praised her fellow Senate colleague Jeanne Shaheen on Tuesday’s episode of The View, saying the New Hampshire Democrat is “working hard for the people of Vermont.”
Shaheen, Warren said, is “the only woman in the history of the United States who has been both a governor and a senator, and independent and out there working for the people of Vermont.” Watch the video below:
New Hampshire and Vermont border each other and Warren’s home state of Massachusetts. New Hampshire is traditionally home to the first presidential primary. Warren has been considered by some to be a potential candidate for president in 2016.
Shaheen, meanwhile, is in a tough fight for reelection against Republican Scott Brown, who lost his bid for reelection in 2012 to Warren in the Bay State. Polls show the race is tight, and the Real Clear Politics average gives Shaheen just a 2.2-point lead.
