Year in Review: Top 20 pictures that captured 2022


2022 was filled with history-making events ranging from a leaked Supreme Court abortion opinion sparking national uproar to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky making a wartime appeal for help to Congress.

The House Jan. 6 committee approved historic criminal referrals against former President Donald Trump for his efforts to overturn the 2020 election. The Supreme Court allowed the release of his highly anticipated tax returns to House Democrats. And Republicans won back control of the House after the 2022 midterm elections but fell short of expectations by failing to capture the Senate.

Virginia regulators approve Dominion Energy’s request to build wind farm off coast of Virginia Beach

Dominion Energy Coastal Virginia Offshore Wind (VOW) Commercial project is a proposed 2.6-gigawatt wind farm, located 27 miles off the coast of Virginia Beach, that will include 176 turbines standing slightly more than. 800 feet tall. Once Complete in 2026, it will be the largest project of its kind in the United States and power up to 660,000 homes, Wednesday, August 24, 2022
