R&B superstar Usher met with Sen. Raphael Warnock (D-GA) on Wednesday on Capitol Hill, where the two discussed screening for Type 1 diabetes.

The musician’s visit to the Capitol to talk about diabetes hits close to home for him after his child was diagnosed with the disease in 2014. In the 10 years that have passed, he has become an advocate for diabetes screenings, citing how they can help people get diagnosed sooner.
