Senate races to approve Social Security expansion before end of Congress

Millions of Social Security recipients could soon see an expansion of their benefits, with senators expected to pass the Social Security Fairness Act this week.

The bipartisan legislation, which cleared the Republican House 327-75 last month, would boost the benefits of Americans by eliminating reductions for those with public pensions, such as teachers and first responders.
