It turns out that the rumors of CBS White House correspondent Mark Knoller’s layoff are true.
First hinted in May, he and CBS responded that, no, he was still on the job for the struggling network. But now, he tells us that the reports were not wrong, just premature.
“Not a mistake. I got a layoff notice. Will be on the job through the end of July. Will see what happens then,” he said. Knoller is well-respected and beloved by reporters and White House staffs for his straight reporting and his historical knowledge about the institution he’s covered since Gerald Ford’s presidency. …
