The King of Beers is galloping into Washington this week to declare the king of Capitol Hill brewers.
Ten House and Senate members will compete at the third annual Anheuser-Busch Brew Across America Congressional Beer Festival for the coveted “Brew Democracy Cup.”
The members, including Sens. Ted Cruz, Kyrsten Sinema, Rick Scott, and Reps. Dan Crenshaw and Ann Wagner, have teamed with brewers at Bud and Bud craft breweries to make a signature beer. Last year’s winner, Illinois Rep. Mike Quigley, won with “Scout’s Cerveza,” which he described as “a Mexican-style pale lager named after my family’s dog, Scout.” …
- Airbnb is already experiencing a crush of reservations for the Democratic and Republican national political conventions in 2020. Chris Lehane, senior vice president of global policy and communications, told us Airbnb landlords have taken hundreds of reservations in Milwaukee, the summer home for the Democrats, and Charlotte, North Carolina, where President Trump is to be renominated. Media and campaign officials are leading the way. …

- Best-selling author Joel C. Rosenberg sent us a note from his meeting with Saudi royal officials last week. He led a delegation of American evangelicals to urge further reforms. But, he said, the kingdom is being ignored by top lawmakers. “Yes, there are significant challenges in the U.S.-Saudi relationship. But we urge more senators to come here, see the sweeping and positive reforms that the crown prince is making, and ask him candid questions directly rather than sniping at him from Washington,” he said. …
