It’s no secret that outgoing Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe is seriously eyeing a 2020 bid for the Democratic presidential nomination. But he’s also looking at two alternatives: farming and brewing.

“I think my future has two avenues: I’m going to start a craft brewery and I’m going to start a hops farm in Virginia,” he told Virginia Craft Beer magazine.

During his term, McAuliffe was a sort of king of brewery openings, which nearly tripled in his four years in office. He also grows hops at the governor’s mansion in Richmond. …
