There is a huge divide between how Uncle Sam’s workforce and the self-employed view President Obama’s reelection–and it’s no surprise. Federal workers want Obama, small businessmen Mitt Romney.
A new Rasmussen Reports poll of 7,000 likely voters finds that Romney has a 20-point advantage over Obama among the self-employed, 56 percent to 36 percent. The poll results follow the GOP’s efforts to make an issue over Obama’s “you didn’t build that” comments.
Government workers, however, like their boss, supporting Obama 54 percent to 37 percent.
The large poll included 815 government workers and 1,040 entrepreneurs.
Among entrepreneurs, 59 percent disapprove of the way Obama is handling his job. Some 55% of government workers give him their approval.
