New high: Most say throw Congress out

In the latest proof that America hates Washington, a new high of 68 percent say it’s time to throw out Congress and bring in a whole new crop of legislators.

A Rasmussen poll out Friday tapped just what the nation dislikes about Congress: 61 percent said that no matter how bad things get, “Congress can always find a way to make it worse.”

The 68 percent who have a “throw the bums out” view is the highest since 2008 when the Democratic majority was junked in favor of the Tea Party-led GOP. Democrats say the results favor their plan to take over from the Republicans in November, while GOP leaders claim it’s the Democrats the public dislikes most.

The poll also found extreme lows for voter confidence in congressional members. For example, just 8 percent are “very confident” in their representative. Some 23 percent are “not at all” confident.
