It could be the millennial fight of our times.
And it’s on Twitter of course.
Amid reports that President Trump is considering his son-in-law Jared Kushner to be his new White House chief of staff, the most outspoken member of the new House Democrat class, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, is charging nepotism.
Ah yes, of course, it’s classic Republican “bootstrap” meritocracy: where the smartest, hardest-working, most fitting person for the job just so happens to be your son-in-law. https://t.co/u6mqhrJlGS

In response to a tweet that CBS Chief Washington Correspondent Major Garrett was confirming reports about Kushner, the president’s secret weapon on issues from NAFTA to criminal justice reform, the New York liberal issued a mocking tweet of her fellow New Yorker:
“Ah yes, of course, it’s classic Republican ‘bootstrap’ meritocracy: where the smartest, hardest-working, most fitting person for the job just so happens to be your son-in-law.”
Trump has always tapped family members for top jobs in his empire, and has his son-in-law and daughter, Ivanka, working key posts in his White House.
But it’s nothing new. Hillary Rodham Clinton pushed for an office in the West Wing where she ran her bid for nationalized health care, and former President John F. Kennedy installed his brother, Robert F. Kennedy, as attorney general.
