Impeach Trump? No, 44%-41%

Despite the media’s portrayal of the Trump White House in disarray and some Democratic calls that the president be removed from office, there is no big swing by the public in favor of impeachment, according to the latest Harvard-Harris poll.

The survey, which has asked the public about impeachment for two straight months, found little change from June to July. The latest results find that 44 percent oppose impeachment, 41 percent support, and 15 percent prefer “censure” from Congress, a sort of hand slap.

Among Republicans, 78 percent said no to impeachment while 70 percent of Democrats said yes.

The poll comes on the heels of another Harvard survey, the Institute of Politics youth survey that found that 59 percent want to “recall and replace” Trump.

In his analysis of the impeachment findings, polling expert Ron Faucheux noted: “51% of men, 38% of women, 53% of whites, 32% of Hispanics, 14% of blacks, 78% of Republicans, 14% of Democrats and 45% of independents say no action should be taken on Trump.”
