Some 81 percent of the nation, Democrats and Republicans alike, believe Washington is corrupt, concrete proof of the anger felt by primary voters.
“Voters strongly believe the federal government is crooked,” said a new analysis of likely voters from Rasmussen Reports.
Voters appear rabid in their distrust of the federal government. For example, said Rasmussen, 33 percent said they feel Washington is “very corrupt,” and just 2 percent feel the feds are “not at all corrupt,” a huge imbalance.
Republicans and the most soured on the federal government. Some 89 percent believe it is somewhat or very corrupt. But Democrats mostly agree, with 70 percent in the somewhat or very corrupt column.
Rasmussen said that voters are angry with Congress and federal policies.
“In fact, 64 percent say if given the choice, they would vote in the next election to get rid of the entire Congress,” said the poll analysis.
The survey of 1,000 Likely Voters was conducted on January 28 and 31, 2016 by Rasmussen Reports. The margin of sampling error is +/- 3 percentage points with a 95 percent level of confidence. Field work for all Rasmussen Reports surveys is conducted by Pulse Opinion Research, LLC.
