President Obama is admitting to suffering sad afternoon tears as he thinks about his daughters growing up and readying for college.
At an Easter prayer breakfast at the White House, he talked about the family changes at the White House.

“I want to thank everybody here for their prayers, which mean so much to me and Michelle. Particularly at a time when my daughters are starting to grow up and starting to go on college visits, I need prayer. I start tearing up in the middle of the day and I can’t explain it. Why am I so sad? They’re leaving me,” said the president.

Obama’s oldest daughter, Malia, has been on college tours and his youngest, Sasha, will be considering college when the president finishes out his second four-year term.
Obama thanked his guests and clergy for attending the session during the busy Holy Week and added that he had a full house in advance of the annual Easter Egg Roll:
“I can’t say that our work during this season is comparable, but you should try dealing with thousands of people in your backyard on an Easter egg roll. After that you need quiet reflection — particularly because I had some of my nephews — 6 and 4 — in my house all weekend. And you need quiet reflection after that. Girls are different than boys.”
