Police: ‘Pro-criminal’ politicians are to blame for murder spike

As murder rates surge in major cities, the police are pointing a finger at liberal politicians keen on limiting law enforcement and pandering to criminals as a major cause.

New federal murder statistics highlighted by the National Fraternal Order of Police show one spike as high as 94.9% for Milwaukee.

“This year, law-abiding citizens saw the real-life consequences of elected officials embracing pro-criminal, revolving-door policies. The result: our communities suffered,” said the largest police union in the United States, representing over 356,000.

“Historic crime reductions & the renaissance of our urban communities are being thrown away. For what?” it added in a tweet.

The police and other law enforcement officials have decried this year’s rise in violent crime and blame liberal cities for imposing lax policing rules and efforts to defund departments.

The union has charted the growing chaos in some cities. In another tweet, it said, “In case you aren’t aware of what is taking place in many major cities, due to the lack of media coverage Eyes, here is one recent example: Yesterday, in broad daylight and right in front of a MARKED police RV, a criminal opened fire on 2 people, murdering 1 and injuring another.”

There was also an unrelated video posted today of a gang of bicyclists in New York City attacking a car downtown.

Police officials said they are concerned that President-elect Joe Biden’s team will give in to defunding efforts, and that could lead to even higher crime.
