Not only is the chairman of the American Conservative Union rolling out the group’s annual Conservative Political Action Conference in Florida next week, featuring former President Donald Trump, but he also has a new book to talk up. The Desecrators is about the current cancel culture “mob” and how to defeat it.

It features a foreword by his wife, Mercedes, a former Trump insider, who reveals that the Left tried to kill Schlapp’s businesses because of his support for Trump.

At one point, the duo considered bowing out of the public, but, she explained, “I knew that we had been called to speak up for those afraid to speak.” …

  • Early jitters about how the public would respond to the return of the National Rifle Association’s Great America Outdoor Show in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, were rewarded with near-record attendance. Officials told Secrets that 165,000 poured into the Pennsylvania Farm Show & Expo Center last week, contributing an estimated $75 million into the local economy. That was just shy of the 2020 record of 179,000. “After a one-year hiatus due to the pandemic, the Great American Outdoor Show roared back to life, welcoming outdoor enthusiasts and vendors from every corner of the globe and gave NRA members and like-minded friends the opportunity to once again gather to celebrate our cherished hunting and outdoor heritage,” said Joseph DeBergalis, executive director of NRA general operations.
  • While Facebook dominates how lawmakers interact with constituents, it’s Twitter that they and their staffs love to use. According to a new analysis from Hamilton Place Strategies, congressional accounts sent out 549,687 tweets last year, 61.2% from Democrats, 38.8% from Republicans. Despite that gap, it was a Republican who tweeted the most last year. Sen. John Cornyn of Texas was “crowned 2021’s most prolific tweeter in Congress,” with 6,507 tweets, over 1,000 more than any other member’s account.
  • The Heritage Foundation continues to build its immigration team, adding Tom Homan to its growing staff of fellows. Homan has a long career in federal immigration enforcement and was planning to retire when Trump came to office but was talked into staying on to help the successful effort to shut down illegal border crossings. He’s an old New York police officer who still likes Pabst.
  • Former President Donald Trump will present the “Unity Award” to Alveda King, Martin Luther King’s niece, next Tuesday during the 10th annual We Love Christian Music Awards. It will be a video presentation.
