Longtime GOP operative and analyst Doug Heye has re-signed with CNN and is promising to “pull back the curtain” on the 2020 presidential campaign.
The former Republican National Committee spokesman is a regular on the network and is likely to increase his appearances as the news media turns from impeachment to the 2020 elections. He is also a prolific opinion writer for CNN and has a large network of friends and associates in Washington.
He told Secrets: “With caucuses and primaries just around the corner and the election in November, this looks to be one of the most interesting campaigns we’ve ever seen. I’m happy to continue to draw from my experiences both inside and outside Washington to pull back the political curtain a bit as we discuss the 2020 campaign, the Trump administration, and Congress. There should be no shortage of things to discuss or lessons to learn.”
I knew this was a sad, somber process when I saw Steve Cohen eating fried chicken and Cedric Richmond playing golf. And that Trump letter.

Heye, who has called for the censure of President Trump instead of impeachment, ran the GOP communications operation in Iowa during the 2012 caucus and has worked for former House Majority Leader Eric Cantor and Sen. Richard Burr.
