Most agree: Impeach Antony Blinken, punish Hunter Biden cover-up crew

A sizable majority of people who are closely watching the Hunter Biden computer scandal unfold believe that officials involved in covering it up should be punished and that Secretary of State Antony Blinken should be impeached for his role in the effort.

In the latest Rasmussen Reports survey shared with Secrets, 60% want Blinken impeached for his reported role in helping suppress news about the first son’s laptop during the 2020 presidential campaign.

Blinken, who was a key Biden adviser on the president’s 2020 campaign, has been accused of helping pull together a letter signed by top intelligence officials that said the Hunter Biden computer reports were Russian disinformation.

The computer and its information turned out to be true, and Blinken, this week, denied playing a role in the letter from intelligence officials that slammed reporting on the computer.

Voters quizzed by Rasmussen, however, aren’t buying the denials. Not only do most want impeachment proceedings to begin against Blinken but more, 63%, want the security clearances of officials who signed the letter yanked.

In both instances, majorities of Democrats joined with Republicans calling for punishment and impeachment, a blow to Blinken’s credibility within the party.

“Majorities of every political category — 73% of Republicans, 58% of Democrats, and 59% of voters not affiliated with either major party — believe the 51 former intelligence officials who signed the ‘Russian disinformation’ letter should lose their security clearances,” the poll analysis said.

It added, “Similarly, 73% of Republicans, 51% of Democrats, and 57% of unaffiliated voters think Congress should begin impeachment proceedings against Secretary of State Blinken.”

The survey did not get into reports that Blinken privately emailed with Hunter Biden during the campaign, or GOP investigations into his links to the campaign to discredit reports, notably in the New York Post, about the authenticity of the Biden computer and its contents.

The cover-up has also led people to question the intelligence community and its role in politics.

Asked which was “more harmful to democracy in America,” 58% said the pro-Biden intelligence officials who interfered in the 2020 election, and just 30% said Russia.
