Raising taxes like President Obama and Democrats want to do to offset the looming sequester is not in the cards, as a plurality of voters believe that spending cuts alone are the best way to slash the deficit, according to a new Rasmussen Reports poll.

According to Rasmussen, 45 percent of the 1,000 likely voters polled believe the deficit should be trimmed by spending cuts. Thirty-six percent said a combination of new taxes and spending cuts are the answer.
