A new poll finds that President Trump is right in seeking a way to fight the coronavirus while bolstering the U.S. economy, dual issues that are rattling people.
The latest Rasmussen Reports poll said that 91% of adults are worried about the financial impact of the virus, with a sky-high 67% who are “very concerned.”
The findings come as the virus is sending the economy into chaos and boosting unemployment as states shut down schools, stores, and even huge swaths of cities to force people to avoid spreading their germs.
Not surprisingly, Rasmussen found that 32% of adults say they or someone in their immediate family has lost a job because of the virus.
For those who are under 40, the number spikes to 41%.
What’s more, 53% have been forced to cancel travel plans.
Rasmussen also found that financial status affected how concerned people are about the economic impact of the coronavirus.
The survey analysis said:
“The more one earns, the less likely they are to report themselves or an immediate family member losing their job due to the virus. But higher-income adults are more likely to be ‘Very Concerned’ about their finances.
“Seventy-one percent (71%) of investors are ‘Very Concerned’ about the financial impact of the coronavirus, compared to 63% of noninvestors.”
