This week’s Mainstream Media Scream features former Clinton aide George Stephanopoulos, ABC’s “Chief Anchor,” calling on the media to highlight the “dishonesty” of Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump.
On his Sunday show, “This Week,” he said to New York Times political correspondent Maggie Haberman:
“The [New York] Times got attention last week when they called out a Trump lie on the front page of Saturday’s paper. You’ve got another article in the paper doing that this week. Whose job is it, and is the Hillary Clinton team right when they complain about this double standard, they say ‘well voters think she’s dishonest in part because the media hasn’t done its job calling out the dishonesty of Donald Trump’?”

Media Research Center Vice President of Research Brent Baker explains the pick: “Of all the concerns to have hours before the first debate, only someone in the tank for Hillary could have this one. Calling out the dishonesty of Trump is about all the media have been doing for the past few weeks. And suggesting people think she’s dishonest because they don’t realize how dishonest he is, is ludicrous.”
Rating: Four out of five screams.
