GOP proposes 33 candidates for 2016, including Romney

Don’t count Mitt Romney out of the 2016 GOP primaries yet. The Republican Party isn’t.

In a fundraising straw poll just issued by the Republican National Committee, Romney is one of 33 candidates proposed, even though he has dismissed running for a third time.

In addition to those known to be interested, like Jeb Bush and Sen. Rand Paul, longshots are included, such as former Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour and even 2012 candidate/businessman Herman Cain.

The poll was included in an email fundraiser from the GOP’s 2016 convention chairman.

“Our nation is ready to put Barack Obama’s presidency in its rearview mirror — and certainly is not prepared to allow Hillary Clinton to continue his misconceived policies and misplaced priorities,” wrote Jeff Larson.
