Hustler publisher Larry Flynt Tuesday blasted the “mainstream press” for inaccuracies and candidate fact checking failures in the 2016 election, claiming his porn magazine is more accurate than TV’s evening news.
“There are more accurate articles in HUSTLER than in most of the coverage I have seen this past election. That says something now, doesn’t it?” Flynt barked in an ad published in Variety.
Flynt, president of LFP Inc., claims that poor reporting and inadequate fact-checking resulted in the election of President-elect Trump.
And now he believes it is up to the media to “bring him down” in order to redeem themselves.
“Dear Mainstream Press,” he writes in the open letter. “You’ve done it again. Your lack of responsible reporting has betrayed this great nation. You have helped create this monster we now call President-elect Trump. It is up to you to bring him down, providing you have the backbone to do so,” he added.
Both political parties have attacked the media’s coverage in the 2016 election. Trump himself has accused the mainstream media of having a bias against him.
Flynt said the media’s refusal to take blame is “pathetic and spineless.”
