Mainstream Media Scream: It’s Trump’s fault press ignoring Clinton-WikiLeaks

Apparently, the mainstream media can’t walk and chew gum at the same time.

Exhibit one is our Mainstream Media Scream of the week. It was during Sunday’s “Meet the Press” when NBC White House reporter Kristen Welker said that it’s Trump’s fault the media isn’t focused on the thousands of embarrassing Clinton campaign emails leaked out by WikiLeaks.

To nods of agreement from the media panel, she said, “I can’t tell you how many times this past week journalists have said, ‘What would this news cycle look like if we hadn’t had the 2005 tape of Donald Trump, if these allegations hadn’t come forward from all of these women?’ I mean, we would be almost solely focused on these WikiLeaks. And yet, Donald Trump continues to kind of make these unforced errors.”

Media Research Center Vice President of Research Brent Baker explains the pick: “The whopper of the week! If only Donald Trump would stop forcing us to cover his alleged misdeeds, we journalists would be zealously pursuing WikiLeaks revelations damaging to Hillary Clinton – as if journalists currently couldn’t devote the same level of attention to both, if they really wanted to do so.”

Rating: Four out of five screams.
