Catholics rip Biden: ‘100 days of disappointment’

He might be the Washington Post’s version of the perfect Catholic, but a second group of Catholics have stepped up to reject President Joe Biden and warn that he’s likely to only get worse.

“As Joe Biden passes his 100th-day mark in office today, the early returns show how, for faithful Catholics, this period couldn’t be more disappointing. There are also signs that the next 100 days and beyond will be even more disturbing,” said Michael Warsaw, the publisher of the National Catholic Register.

In a column headlined “100 days of disappointment,” Warsaw echoed complaints aired by several conservative bishops and decried Biden’s reversal of former President Donald Trump’s moves to end taxpayer support for abortion.

He also hit the administration’s liberalization of the use of fetal tissue, backing of the LGBT agenda, and the general endorsement of liberal policies he didn’t espouse on the campaign trail.

“In general, the policies Biden is rolling out align closely with the wish list of the Democratic Party’s progressive wing, but they are opposed by a broad swath of Americans. And the intensity of Biden’s push has surprised even the progressives themselves,” he wrote.

It was the second rap of Biden by Catholics this week.

The media, however, has gone to bat for Biden, especially as he challenges Rome’s rules.

The Washington Post, for example, dubbed him “very Catholic” in describing the criticism by conservative bishops. That phrase sparked a hot online backlash.
