Minutes after Donald Trump finished his victory speech early Wednesday morning, foes turned to Twitter and other social media to reject the results and explode the Twitter campaign #NotMyPresident.
One Twitter user wrote:
#NotMyPresident
#NOTMyPresident
#NotMYPresident
#NOTMYPRESIDENT
Which one looks best? Just practicing now.
Some of Hillary Rodham Clinton’s star supporters even called on Americans to rise up against Trump.
Do not sit still. Do not weep. MOVE. We are not a nation that will let HATE lead us.

Pop star Katy Perry tweeted, for example, “We will never be silenced,” “Rise up,” and “Do not sit still. Do not weep. MOVE. We are not a nation that will let HATE lead us.”
The #NotMyPresident was picking up over 200 retweets an hour Wednesday morning.
