Wow, that was fast. First lady Michelle Obama, heralded by the media as Hillary Rodham Clinton’s savior on the campaign trail, is now warning that the Democrats “could lose.”
In an urgent email, she wrote supporters that there is deep concerns in the party that Democrats won’t come out to vote, or will be intimidated at voting.
As a result, she said the party has heavied up with lawyers and experts to help.
“We’re out here trying to help everyone exercise their right to vote — and you know what? If more people vote, Hillary will win. If people stay home, we could lose,” she wrote.
Her note:
How we could lose.
Hillary’s campaign is based on the idea that we are stronger as a nation when we all come together and help each other.
So in the last 6 days of this campaign, when we meet someone who needs a ride to the polls, we help them out. When someone has a question about voting, we’ve got a hotline with lawyers and volunteers they can talk to.
We’re out here trying to help everyone exercise their right to vote — and you know what? If more people vote, Hillary will win. If people stay home, we could lose.
That’s why it’s so important that we stay focused on our Get Out the Vote program this week, and I’m so grateful that people like you are supporting it. You’re a vital part of this operation — and it only works if folks like you step up for the first time to help finish this campaign the right way.
We’re so close to making history. As one of Hillary’s most passionate supporters, I’m coming to you personally to ask for your help. Will you chip in today to make sure as many Americans as possible can make their voices heard in this election?
