PETA not happy Bidens didn’t adopt one of 200 locally homeless sheps

It’s been said that if you want a friend in Washington, get a dog. But even in getting a new German shepherd, President Joe Biden drew fire.

After the president announced online that he and first lady Jill Biden welcomed a shep puppy from his brother, PETA condemned the move as a “killer” to those left behind in local shelters.

“This seems deeply disappointing @POTUS. You know it’s important to adopt homeless animals like Major. Paying a breeder to add to overpopulation is irresponsible & killer,” said the group in a tweet.

“We wish Commander a great life, but the nearly 200 adoptable shepherds within 100mi of D.C. deserve one too,” PETA added.

The Bidens had adopted Major, but he turned out to be a biter, and they shipped him off. The first family told CNN that Major is living in a “quieter environment” with family friends.
