Influential conservative talker Wednesday night endorsed Sen. Ted Cruz for president over Donald Trump.
On his newly launched online LevinTV, Levin said he prefers Cruz because the Texas senator fights for the “Constitution, the Republic, individual sovereignty, separation of powers, the Bill of Rights, family, faith, a secure border, and our national security.”
Followers of Levin’s radio show won’t be surprised with the endorsement, but it still carries weight because of his reach on radio, now on TV and on Facebook.
He said on his TV show that debuted this week that while Cruz isn’t perfect, it is a “simple decision.”
He did not say he was against Trump, Ohio. Gov. John Kasich or Sen. Marco Rubio, but said Cruz understands “where this country has been and where it needs to go.”
Levin also expressed confidence that Cruz can beat Democratic front-runner Hillary Rodham Clinton.
