Mark Levin is Donald Trump’s legal counsel now

In reaching out to the Supreme Court to shut down the legal “witch hunts” he is facing from his chief political opponent, former President Donald Trump is piggybacking off the latest recommendation to him made by conservative talk show giant and former Justice Department chief of staff Mark Levin.

Trump’s call on his Truth Social platform today read like Levin’s thread on X, formerly known as Twitter, from last night in which he posted, “I want to publicly encourage the Trump legal team to seek an emergency hearing before the U.S. Supreme Court, not to resolve legal disputes, but to at least temporarily halt the abomination of this legal warfare that is unfolding in front of us.”

DONALD TRUMP INDICTED: TIMELINE OF 2020 ELECTION INVESTIGATIONS

He added, “This unprecedented legal warfare requires an unprecedented response by the only constitutional body left that can do something about it — the Supreme Court.”

And after this story posted, Levin added another post about how Trump can get the Supreme Court to consider his appeal. In that one, he concluded: “Individual district court judges ought not decide for the nation how we shall now proceed, given what the Biden DOJ has foisted in the nation. This matter needs to get to SCOTUS.”

On Truth Social, Trump posted this morning, “It is Election Interference, & the Supreme Court must intercede.”

As the indictments have added up against Trump, Levin has become more outspoken against Attorney General Merrick Garland, President Joe Biden, and special counsel Jack Smith, accusing the trio of running a political destruction shop aimed at the 45th president with the goal of pushing him out of the race or forbidding him from serving as president due to 14th Amendment restrictions.

After Trump pleaded not guilty yesterday to a third indictment, Levin wrote, “The attorney general is approving the timing of dozens of charges against the former Republican president, who is actively seeking his party’s nomination to challenge the Democrat president for whom he directly reports, which are intended to cripple the ability of Donald Trump to effectively run for president, regardless of what polls show today.”

Levin made similar comments on his nationally syndicated radio show last night.

He also posted on X that Trump should pardon himself if elected and inaugurated.

While Levin is best known for his books, radio, and TV shows, it is his legal background that propelled him into the public eye decades ago. As head of the Landmark Legal Foundation, he took on the Clinton administration, and especially Hillary Clinton’s projects. He was also the DOJ’s chief of staff under Edwin Meese, former President Ronald Reagan’s top lawyer and arguably one of the most influential in decades.

Ever since Trump won in 2016 against expected winner Hillary Clinton, Democrats have tried to change the way elections are conducted and even end the use of the Electoral College.

In his post, Levin said that the Justice Department’s assault on Trump is just another way of killing U.S. elections.

“The fact is that this kind of legal warfare against a presidential and possible if not likely opponent to the present president, is not only unprecedented in the history of our republic it will destroy our electoral system for all time. It is not something that should left to various district courts or local courts to sort out in the course of regular judicial proceedings. In fact, that is part of the intended strategy by the prosecutors who are engaged in this assault on our electoral system. They must not be rewarded for their behavior. They must not be rewarded for their treachery and exploitation of the legal system and the courts to achieve their political ends,” he wrote.
