This week’s Liberal Media Scream features one of the Left’s favorite slams on President Trump: that he is Adolf Hitler incarnated.
It comes from MSNBC regular Donny Deutsch on his show, Saturday Night Politics. As another MSNBC host, Joy Reid, nods her head, Deutsch rants, “There’s so many stunning parallels to what Hitler was doing,” before adding, “I’m not saying Trump is going to slaughter 6 million Jews.”
Deutsch, on the July 27 edition of MSNBC’s 8 p.m. EDT Saturday Night Politics:
“Could it happen here? …There’s so many stunning parallels to what Hitler was doing in the early phase, and once again I’m not saying Trump is going to slaughter 6 million Jews, but ranging from the fake news parallels to the seizing of new powers, the Reichstag in ‘33 versus Trump’s nonexistent national emergencies and declarations to ignore Congress, the racial scapegoating, the rallies, the isolating of himself, the creating of false other, he has the Justice Department in his pocket. He has one branch of the government marching blindly behind him.
On SNP last night, @JoyAnnReid said that an impeachment proceeding would force the country to pay attention to the various investigations into @realDonaldTrump,
“Impeachment is not about removal. Does anybody want President Mike Pence? No. But you want to destabilize him.” pic.twitter.com/Vy0p7uwAQ4

“And we keep saying, ‘oh, there’s a safeguard, this couldn’t happen,’ but every time, even when it comes to ‘send her home, send her home, send her back.’ And then Kevin McCarthy, the third ranking Republican, basically said you didn’t see that, that wasn’t a chant.
“So, I firmly believe, knowing Donald Trump, that if you said to Donald Trump, ‘Mr. Trump in order to become Putin, in order to stay in office forever, in order to loot this country, you have to do X,’ he’s capable to doing wherever your mind can take you for X … I want to stop using autocrat. I want to start using the word fascist. And many tendencies like Adolf Hitler.”
On Saturday Night Politics last night, @jheil argued that there is hope for Democrats in 2020 because @realDonaldTrump “has not gained a new voter. He has not built a new movement that’s gone outside of the people who voted for him in 2016.” pic.twitter.com/rUinAZhl8K

Media Research Center Vice President of Research Brent Baker explains our weekly pick: “Hard to imagine another media figure who has so well earned five screams. How can you decry Trump for mean insults of politicians and communities when you are irresponsibly making the ludicrous case that he’s following the path of a genocidal dictator? How can anyone consider Deutsch a serious political commentator? MSNBC should be embarrassed by such drivel but, sadly, they rewarded this guy with his own show.”
Rating: Five out of five screams.
