In hard-line conservative circles, a complaint often heard is about how wimpy Republicans can be when fighting or negotiating with true-blue liberals.
And now there’s proof of it.

A new CPAC Foundation review of 150,000 votes by 7,400 state lawmakers from every state found that Democrats stick to their guns more than Republicans.
According to the data provided to Secrets, Republican caucuses in state legislatures voted with the conservative position an average of 76.71% of the time. Democrats vote with liberals 87.4% of the time.
So, on average, Democratic legislators supported liberal legislation 10% more of the time than Republican legislators supported conservative legislation, the enormous study found.

That was no shock to CPAC Chairman Matt Schlapp. “Republicans run on conservative promises, but after they win, more of them abandon the tough votes on key conservative policies when compared to Democrats whose first rule is to stick together,” he said.
CPAC Foundation’s Center for Legislative Accountability ranked all 50 state legislatures on conservative loyalty and put West Virginia first and Hawaii last.
