Retired NFL coach Tony Dungy, who sparred last year with Sen. Raphael Warnock (D-GA) over the lawmaker’s claim he is a “pro-choice pastor,” will be one of the headliners at Friday’s 50th March For Life in Washington.
In a tweet on Thursday, the former Indianapolis Colts coach and current NFL TV analyst said he and his wife Lauren planned to join thousands in the march toward the Capitol and the Supreme Court for the first time.

During his 2022 reelection campaign, Warnock talked about protecting abortion rights despite his role as a Baptist pastor.
Dungy said, however, that the Bible doesn’t allow abortion. Responding to a Warnock tweet last May, Dungy tweeted: “It all comes down to what you believe about the organism growing inside the mother. Is it a life or not? If it is just growing tissue then your ‘choice’ makes sense. If it’s a life then it’s obviously not OK to choose to end it. What does your Bible tell you it is? Psalm 139:16.”

The march is expected to be more celebratory than in past years because it will be the first to occur since the court struck down the 1973 Roe v. Wade decision on abortion rights that led to the creation of the annual event.
March officials said other speakers include: Mississippi Attorney General Lynn Fitch, who won Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, the Supreme Court case that overturned Roe v. Wade; Franklin Graham, the president of Samaritan’s Purse; Sister Mary Casey O’Connor of the Sisters of Life; Dr. Christina Francis, the CEO-elect of the American Association of Pro-Life Obstetricians and Gynecologists; Gina Tomes, the program director of the Bethlehem House maternity home; Jonathan Roumie, best known for his award-winning role as Jesus in The Chosen; House Majority Leader Steve Scalise (R-LA); Rep. Chris Smith (R-NJ), co-chair of the Congressional Pro-Life Caucus; and Connecticut state Rep. Trenee McGhee (D-CT).
