Recent warnings about international breakouts of the potentially lethal avian flu are prompting prepper camps around the country to warn of a new crisis much worse than COVID-19.
The founder of Fortitude Ranch, the closest major prepper installation to Washington, cited a two-week-old warning from the World Health Organization to members living close to the capital.

Drew Miller said while there are no reports yet of human-to-human transmission, that could come next and would spark a societal “collapse” notice.
“Since avian flu is historically 60% lethal to humans, this would likely be the worst disaster in human history, triggering a collapse that could kill far more than the virus does,” he told members who pay for a spot inside the armed camps in West Virginia, Colorado, and Nevada.
Miller has been watching the expansion of the bird flu warnings for months and expressed shock that the Biden administration hasn’t been sending out its own cautions.

With the heightened WHO concerns, Fortitude Ranch members were advised to be ready for a “collapse” notice and rush to the ranches if the situation gets worse.
“This message is to encourage you to have your supplies pre-positioned at your ‘home fort,’ your gasoline in tanks stored in your garage (and rotated thru your car every 3 months) so you can get to FR without needing a gas station, all other preparations ready to go. If, when, human to human transmissible H5N1 starts spreading, you need to immediately get to FR, with NO stops at grocery stores, gas stations, any public places. We will issue a collapse alert, open FR up, when we see reports that H5N1 is spreading among humans,” Miller told them.
