Another day, another indictment, another poll of Trump dominating GOP

There appears to be no breaking of former President Donald Trump’s grip on the Republican voter.

Even after he revealed that he is likely facing another indictment, the one-term president seeking his second term in 2024 continues to dominate the GOP field by double digits.

WHO WAS THE REAL J. ROBERT OPPENHEIMER?

In the latest Rasmussen Reports survey shared with Secrets, 57% of likely Republican primary voters said they would support Trump next year. Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) trails at 13%, and former Vice President Mike Pence is third, though dropping to just 5%.

Rasmussen said Trump has lost little support since the latest indictment news and the increase in candidates joining the primary race.

“Trump’s lead among GOP voters has only slightly diminished since May, when he got 62% in a six-candidate primary field,” the outfit said.

Even among Democrats, Trump was the top pick at 17%.

Trump has topped GOP primary and caucus polls for months, and his numbers have shown continued strength after every legal charge that was thrown at him. His top competitors, Pence and DeSantis, however, have struggled to maintain their support.

Rasmussen said that among all likely GOP voters, 95% say it is likely they will vote in the 2024 Republican presidential primaries.
