Leave it to Mark Levin to cut to the chase and tell conservatives which lanes Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) and former President Donald Trump have in the 2024 GOP primaries.
“I would argue you’re a movement conservative,” he told DeSantis, who granted “the great one” the first radio interview after announcing his presidential bid on Twitter yesterday.
THIS WEEK IS CRITICAL FOR DEBT CEILING NEGOTIATIONS
“I think Trump has more sort of a commonsense” conservative approach, added Levin, a friend of both Republican challengers.
In last night’s interview, Levin highlighted efforts by DeSantis to push a conservative agenda in Florida.
“Don’t you think that distinguishes you from most politicians because you’ve been governor now five years, going on six years, and you’ve stuck to your principles, your founding principles, your conservative principles, and you’ve used them during governing so it’s not just a white paper thing. It’s not just the debate society, you’ve actually shown how to make them work,” said Levin.
In the interview, DeSantis addressed his glitchy Twitter announcement, calling it the biggest audience the platform has ever seen. “Oh, it was the biggest number of people they’ve ever had on a Twitter deal. Musk’s people told my folks that active numbers that we’re joining like every minute that just totally jammed, so we’re really excited about the enthusiasm.”
He also said that to be effective, he would need two terms. That, he added, would give him a chance to create a 7-2 Supreme Court majority for conservatives.
“This is a generational opportunity to solidify and expand a constitutionalist direction in our judiciary,” he said.
Levin is known for interviewing all GOP candidates and also just interviewed Trump.

Without picking sides, he said the choices Republicans will have next year in the primaries will be exciting.
“And I think this is a very exciting moment in our history, if you’re a Republican, and I think it’s a very exciting day that you entered this race, sir. So we wish you all the best,” he said.
