Vice President Mike Pence is calling on Russia special prosecutor Robert Mueller to wrap up his probe.
In an interview with NBC’s Andrea Mitchell focused North Korea’s release of three Americans in advance of the historic U.S.-North Korea summit, Pence also said that the administration has turned over more than 1 million documents to the special counsel.
In brief comments, he brushed aside Mitchell’s question about whether Pence feels Mueller “can be trusted, do you think he’s a bad guy,” to calmly address the long-running probe.
“Our administration has been fully cooperating with the special counsel and will continue to. What I think is it’s been about a year since this investigation began. Our administration has provided over 1 million documents, we’ve fully cooperated and in the interest of the country I think it’s time to wrap it up,” said Pence.
He added: “And I would very respectfully encourage the special counsel and his team to bring their work to conclusion.”
