Democrats: America is a ‘white supremacy’ nation

Democrats have taken the next step beyond the Black Lives Matter movement and the campaign to snuff out relics of the Confederacy to declare that America, from its founding to today, is a “white supremacy” nation.

“America is going through an awakening, battling a killer that has haunted our nation since before its founding,” said a key Democratic group in a new fundraising drive.

In a video to “end white supremacy,” the Democratic Association of Secretaries of State said that efforts to limit black voting “is rooted in white supremacy.”

The video said that the supremacist bid to suppress voting started at the Constitutional Convention and is now driving concerns about mail-in voting raised by Republicans and President Trump.

“The Founding Fathers intentionally excluded many from the right to vote. The history of voting rights in America is one of slow, often tumultuous, incremental inclusion, but the right to vote and access to the ballot remains under intense attack even today,” said a fundraising memo accompanying the video.

The video references key points in U.S. history, including the 1787 “three-fifths compromise” on counting slaves for legislative representation and pushed by a delegate from Philadelphia and one from South Carolina, and Jim Crow laws established in southern Democratic-run states.

Voting by mail has taken on a new urgency due to the coronavirus crisis. Democrats have embraced it while Republicans claim it will lead to fraud.
