Former Vice President Joe Biden’s odds of winning the Democratic presidential nomination have turned up, giving him national momentum going into next month’s first caucus and primary, according to a leading political betting site.

Election Betting Odds put Biden ahead of all Democrats at 32.8% and said that his chances had increased 1.8% in the last day.
Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders’s odds of winning, in second place at 28%, dropped 0.8%.
For the last month on the betting aggregation site, the race has been between Biden and Sanders, with the duo switching positions often. Late last year, the two were trying to catch up to Sen. Elizabeth Warren, who had been the media’s darling before she plummeted.
While good news nationally for Biden, especially after last night’s contentious Democratic debate, Sanders has seen his odds of winning the Iowa Democratic caucus and New Hampshire Democratic primary increase in the past day, and he is leading Biden.
In Iowa, Sanders’s odds of winning are 41% to Biden’s 29%. In New Hampshire, Sanders leads 52% to 22%.
