Former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, who is entering the 2020 Democratic presidential primaries because he questions the electability of others in the race, is seen by Democrats as the candidate with the least chance of beating President Trump, according to a new survey.
Just 1% of people surveyed believe Bloomberg is the “most electable,” putting him last among the named candidates on a new Gallup survey.
Topping the list by a wide margin is former Vice President Joe Biden, at 51%.

Although Biden is struggling in fundraising and polling in early primary and caucus states, Democrats told Gallup that electability and beating Trump are the top issues for them in the 2020 race, boosting Biden’s cause.
In fact, it is more important to Democrats than any other issue.
“Six-in-10 Democrats and Democratic-leaning independents would prefer to see the party nominate the candidate with the best chance of beating President Donald Trump, even if that person does not share their views on key issues,” according to Gallup.
It helps that Biden is considered a moderate by comparison to the more liberal 2020 Democrats running for president. Fifty percent of those polled prefer a moderate.
