Youngkin, who is being talked about as a possible 2024 presidential candidate, is extremely popular with Republicans. Among the GOP, he has an 86% approval rating. Among independents, it’s 57%, and with Democrats, just 21%.

The survey is the latest to show the former businessman with a positive rating in the commonwealth.

It also suggested that the issues the governor is focused on leading up to the next session of the General Assembly are those the public wants dealt with.

“Poll respondents feel that inflation needs to be dealt with and democracy ensured for our future,” said L. Douglas Wilder, the 66th governor of Virginia.

Wilder said in releasing the survey, “The voters are looking for leadership to produce results for all Virginians.”
