Kiss off: Vaccinated Harris and her husband smooch with masks on

In yet another conflicting and confusing message to the nation on wearing masks, Vice President Kamala Harris Tuesday appeared to project a new policy of kissing with masks on — even for the fully vaccinated.

Harris and her husband, Doug Emhoff, traveled this morning to Joint Base Andrews where she was flying to Providence, Rhode Island, and he to Allentown, Pennsylvania, for events.

After some storytelling on the tarmac, the two kissed without taking off their black masks, and Harris headed for Air Force Two.

Both were vaccinated months ago.

From the press pool report:

“At 9:59, Harris walked toward the stairs and kissed Emhoff through her mask before she walked up to the plane. Emhoff is in a gray suit and Harris is in a blue suit. Both have black masks.”

Recently, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has loosened mask-wearing rules, and it has been accepted that family members, especially those who have been vaccinated against the coronavirus, do not need to wear masks.

Still, a Rasmussen Reports survey yesterday suggested that people feel mask-wearing will be required for a year or more, even as the virus crisis ends.
