“Happily ever after” is a one-time shot for about half of those divorced or widowed who now say they wouldn’t walk down the aisle again, according to a new survey.
Pew Research Center just tweeted out the results of their poll of those previously married and the mood is grim.
It read: “45 percent of currently divorced or widowed say they do not want to marry again; 21 percent say they do; 31 percent aren’t sure.”

Men seem more open to a second try than women, said Pew.
“There are definite gender differences on this question: Most currently divorced or widowed men are open to the idea of remarriage, but women in the same circumstances are less likely to be open to the idea. Among previously married men, 65 percent either want to remarry or are not sure; 30 percent say that they don’t want to remarry. Among women who are currently divorced or widowed, only 43 percent say they may want to remarry, while 54 percent say they are not interested.”
